I often listen to Japanese music (OST mostly), and I’m extremely picky about the quality (I rarely go under 320kbps/FLAC) because you miss some sound effects, and the sound is dull (when your ears are used to it, you can tell that there’s a noticeable difference between 192kbps and 320 kbps).

But anyway, my biggest regret is that I don’t have surround speakers (5.1 or 7.1) even though my sound card actually supports 7.1. The only thing I have are those cheap 25$ speakers (which are actually incredibly good, for their price) COMEP SP2 6050 :

I actually have the money to buy a new set, but I don’t want to spend money on this, since 5.1 or 7.1 is no small price.

One day I was looking for a way to improve my audio experience a bit, with the cheap stuff I had.
I then stumbled on the DFX plugin, and since then, it follows me on every computer I have.

This little plugin, which works for Windows Media Player, Winamp, RealPlayer, MediaMonkey, J. River Media Center, foobar2000, Musicmatch, DivX Player, completely changed my music experience.
I’m not really the type of person to advertise a software, but this one’s nice.
I believe it was the first of its type to be released on the Net, though there are probably some similar softwares now.
It has a paid and a free version. I personally use the free version, which is more than enough.
For the settings, I usually go like this :

If, like me, you don’t have extra-super-awesome surround speakers, you may want to try this.

Try turning it on and off, you’ll see the difference
If you like music, a software like this is a must-have (provided you don’t have surround already).

Side note: If you ever want to uninstall one of those plugins, you need to do it from the “Control Panel -> Add/Remove Programs” utility.

My opinion: Yet another little awesome show that didn’t get enough attention. Although very short, DtnK doesn’t fail on any aspect. Be advised though, the series can be violent from time to time.
Let’s hope they do release a 3rd OVA in the future.
It’s only 2x~40minutes, so it won’t hurt you to give it a try
