About
Hey people,
It’s been years since I discovered the Japanese anime culture (and everything related to it), and I must say that even today it keeps me interested and entertained to a high degree. If you found this place, then I suppose it’s the same thing for you.
I’ve never really been into blogs and such, but I figured it’d be nice to share what I’ve come across while browsing the Internet.
Rest assured, I’m not gonna talk about my life (nothing interesting anyway; huh). I’ll be essentially posting content about anime series (old and new ones) that I found interesting and that you may not know about. The same thing goes for Japanese artists because there are so many of them that we don’t know of, and yet their drawings are awesome. I’ll also post some wallpapers or nice pics I found here and there. Some random stuff may be posted from time to time, but that’d be rare.
I’ve been telling myself so many times “Ah, how could I miss that, it’s so great !”. Japan may look small on a world map, but their anime/manga culture is far from small, huh.
Anyway, I hope you’ll discover things you’ve never seen before, as this is this blog’s main goal (second goal is to keep boredom-kun busy).
Feel free to leave comments, and enjoy your stay on Neregate
Zana

Warning :
Nice Blog, I think we share the same interest , hope we can be friend
Hi,
I didn't start a blogroll yet, but if you want to, just drop me a mail and i'll make one
Hey, thank you for your Fall 2010 chart
You're welcome
Sounds good to me!
Me too ! So far, it has kept boredom-kun pretty busy
(maybe a bit too much in fact)
Here's a suggestion.
I think you should change how the followup comments email works if you can. Right now, if I check the box, it'll email me (Not instantly either…) asking if I want to confirm my subscription to the thread. I just want an email if someone replied to my comment. No point in asking if I want a subscription or not.
I've removed the subscription confirmation.
Just be careful when you type the email because if you make a typo, it could be sent to somebody else (the subscription confirmation is to avoid this problem).
If that proves to cause too many problems, I'll switch back to the old system.
Hey, just like to say this website looks excellent and your charts are exactly what i was looking for.
Thank you
Glad you like this place.
I glad that I have found this type of blog which show many things that I don't know about anime. I don't know how to express the happiness but what I know is it really excellent blog.
Not sure about being "excellent", but thanks
Enjoy your stay.
Thank you for let me stay and enjoy. In my opinion it always be excellent blog. So I will say thank you.
Hey, could you get rid of the white particle effects on your banner please.
Does this makes you lag? (Shouldn't be visible if you've got a dual core)
If so, just scroll down the page a little bit : The animation hibernates when it's not visible on your screen.
I'll soon be coding some more options for users (one to make the banner non-flash, for example) anyway
It's not performance issues, it's just annoying and it really doesn't suit the theme of your website. The option to turn it off will be greatly appreciated
But I like it! Well, it depent on ppl preference also.. @.@
Yup, that's why I want to make some options
Btw, if you guys have ideas about customizations for the site, I'm all ears !
customizable resolution!
and plz, don't filter every > and < (it sux to use [])
Depends where, but usually all these symbols are stripped for security purposes : malicious code & stuff.
Why do you need those symbols anyway
Did you join in Google Plus (G+). G+'s verry excellent so i think you should put the +1 button into website to increase search result. i will the first one +1 on every post
Nope, I need an invite for it (and I'm not in a hurry) :p
I'm on facebook with my IRL account, but I rarely use it.
I do it mostly because idiots usually find it funny to make a fake account with your name and claim to be you, posting crappy stuff.
Could be interesting to put Neregate on G+ though.
If you'd like i can invite you right now. G+ like facebook, you cant use username, just real name.
And with realname, you never have to scare of fake account
G+ hasn't had fanpage yet, i think it will be added when G+ published, with game and apps together
Noob, i forgot to use reply =.=
Hi!
Stumbled on your site on accident, but I like it! I’ve had an interest to start my own blog but I was too busy for it. Also I didn’t know how to start one and how to find new images like you everyday. It’s nice to see that there are people like you out there who show me this awesome stuff from our favourite culture. I’ll be visiting this site more frequent from now on, keep up the good work!
Thanks Dacasa
Good luck with your blog if you plan on starting one ! It’s time consuming but satisfactory.
Is it just me or do people who don’t have blogs tend to write a lot in their comments? I’ve noticed I make noticeably longer comments than most other people who have blogs, so I just imagine there’s a bit of a correlation.
We need you to start a blog to verify your theory then
I give, how does one easily start a blog and also make sure it doesn’t look like noob crap. (Aesthetically, anyway.)
I’ve actually just purchased a domain! Don’t know what to do and how to do everything yet, but I’m a quick learner if I may say so myself. Now I won’t suspect lots of hits yet but I’ll be sure to add you in my blogroll as soon as I have a decent blog.
That’s nice. Hope you found a good hosting provider to host your website and use your domain
I hope you’ll enjoy blogging as much as I do (aside from site issues ofc >_< ).
If you don't know what to do yet, you might wanna read the 2nd part from this post. This is a purely personal point of view of course. I don’t consider myself a reference either.
あなたのブログを楽しみにしています~
Did you write that last line yourself, or copied it Zana? :O
Translator, although I verified the consistency of the phrasing myself (so the way it is “said” is correct).
I read it, and learned a lot from it! Too bad I already purchased a domain name which is pretty common. My webhost sucks a bit too since it doesnt support one click install. Im not good at programming either, my only pro is writing actually.
But I’m pretty wel known on a forum or two (where I post your charts to keep people updated on the new season) so I’ll probably get some visitors. Anyway thanks for your help so far!
これからもよろしくね!
Don’t worry about what I wrote anyway
Like I said, this is just my very own opinion, and by no means a reference. What matters is that you like what you pick !
About the webhost, it is actually much better not to use a one-click install, but to install everything by yourself (if you can of course), as you learn a bit how wordpress’ repertories are made, where some of the files are, and how you set everything up with the database and stuff. I try to avoid automatic installs as much as possible for things like forums/blogs and the like.
The more control you have over it, the better it is (and the one-click installs may be using outdated files too). Hopefully, moving from a webhost to another isn’t too much trouble either, if the site happens to grow too much (which is a good thing !)
My webhost apperntly hid the wordpress one click install button. I’ve found it now and I’ve installed everything (including a nice organised theme I know from the randomc blog).
It’s hard to find nice widget’s though like your image gallery on top of you site. It’s even harder to add a Home button and get the comments to stay within a certain border since I can’t program :/
Anyway, I’ll let you know when the site is worthy to be a partner with you and then you can judge if you want me in your blogroll or not~!(:
Positioning elements is all about CSS, and once you get the hang of it, it is very easy. This site is an excellent reference to get started without much of a headache.
In your browser, you can try new styles “live” by using programs like Firebug for Firefox or Dragonfly for Opera (depending on your browser), etc.
For image galleries I use frontpage slideshow, but slideshows based on the “Nivo Slider” are very good as well.
Hopefully you can find pretty much anything you want using wordpress plugins.
Alright, I’ve got it all worked out now! My site is open for viewers but still isn’t complete yet! You can get ther eby clicking my name I guess^^ Can I add you in my blogroll?
Sure thing. Please refer to this comment if you want me to add your blog to my list too(because my blogroll is kinda different from the others).
Easy enough!
This is the link for the image: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images/195/blorgrollneregate.png/
My one-liner:
A-status.net, for all your A-status anime info.
I’m afraid my blogroll isn’t as fancy as yours, but I’m sure people will visit after I tell them what kind of site you run!
I just wanted to say that I love all the anime charts that you post every season and I got excited enough to follow this wonderful blog. Count me in as a subscriber! Also thanks for all your work in putting the blog together, I hope you know how many people you make happy by doing this in your free time.
Hello Delti, and thanks for your comment
Enjoy your stay on Neregate !
(PS : subscriptions on posts or pages are only for that post/page. Subscriptions for the whole blog are made using the subscription widget on the right sidebar).
Hi . After looking to the works of artists here . i am eager to also drawing . Can a get a tip or 2. Where to start , What Software should be used to start with . thank you
Hello Sohail.
You may find a few useful things on that post, or check these comments.
The standard software for drawing would be Photoshop. SAI is also very nice for drawing Japanese characters and stuff, but I don’t think there’s a translated version (maybe there is, haven’t searched actually).
You can find plenty of tutorials on the net without much trouble as well.
If you really are into drawing, then buying a graphic tablet is a must-have (better not take a cheap one, cos you may regret it later). If you have a scanner, you can draw on a piece of paper, scan your drawing then color it with a software like Photoshop for example.
Of course, this doesn’t beat a drawing directly made with a software
thanx zana
Hm… seems like neregate dun have favicon, i think you should add it
Actually it does (I see it in Opera). However, I checked with Firefox and Chrome, and it looked like it didn’t show up. This should be fixed now.

Dear Uncle Zana,
I have been in love with senpai since a few months. I’m to shy to tell senpai this face to face though. Will you ever answer my unrequited love?
Hope this makes you happy xD
Now add more Neko-pics for me:3
wth hell is with that smiley btw, its suppsed to be cute >;[
And.. who might be that senpai? *hides in a corner*
I swear that wasn’t me…. xD
Oh man, the avatar was kinda a f*ck-up
Sorry, I cant return your feelings. Plese don’t take it as an offense, take it as a chance to change yourself. Like Lala did. He now is a pedophile anime-maniac and you have even further potential.
-”Hello, the psychiatric hospital? Raitsui-kun is broken!”
Thanks, I’ll take your tips and learn from this experience. Zana, don’t worry. One day we’ll be together~!
Raitsui is free to join btw xD
The day I’ll start leaning that way is the day I’ll stop posting lolis. *drastic comparison*
Ey dude nice blog u have going here,

Been to this site a few times and im already a fan
Thanks Hylix-kun
Hope you continue to enjoy your stay here.
Arigato Zana-senpai,
daisuki desu!
awsome site finally found a site that keeps up with the anime charts lol but also had a question what is up with the site baka.bz? it looks cool to do you need to special code to access it
Hi there.
baka.bz is used as a redirection service. The codes can be found in recent anime charts, for TV series.
How the hell do I sign up? D:
Right now, registrations are closed. There is no real benefit from registering, so no need for registrations imo
Although, I’m planning on coding a custom member area when I get the chance.
If you want to subscribe to comments, you can do so at the bottom of each post.
If you want to subscribe to posts in general, you can do so by registering your email using the subscription widget on the right sidebar.
And when you do code it, please inform how to sign up xD
Thks Zana! Enjoy the site and upcoming anime preview charts. Completely awesome.
You’re welcome
Just found this website through a group posting the Spring 2012 anime chart on facebook.
Its awesome
Now where do i sign up o_o”
Registrations are closed. There would be no real benefit from registering, so I did not enable them. I have plans to code a custom member area in the future, but that won’t before tomorrow^^
If you want to be notified for new posts, all of them (except 18+ content) are announced on my Twitter and Facebook page whenever I publish something.
if you really want everything (including notifications from 18+ content), then subscribing to posts using the widget on the sidebar is the way to go.
I really love this site, it’s helping me get a better understanding for art and what I can do to improve. Arigatou gozaimasu!
You’re welcome
Glad you found something of interest !
If I may ask, what’s this GTA thing I keep seeing you talk about??
GtA (not the game!) stands for “Guess this Anime”.
It’s a small game that occurs twice a week. I put an audio sample from a random anime and you have to guess from which anime the sample is.
There is a scoreboard where you can see the performance of all participants.
GtA can be played using the little widget on the right sidebar of the blog.
