Version 2 Release notes (2012.09.08) :
The long awaited version 2 is here with a massive amount of changes, as you’d expect. I’ve also updated a lot of pictures (mostly for TV series) to keep things “fresh”.
Again, thanks for everyone’s contributions. While most anime are confirmed on Moonphase, information is always welcome. You never know if you’ve missed something !

baka.bz‘s list of websites has been updated to reflect the changes of the new version.

The full changelog can be found at the bottom of this post. You’re welcome to make suggestions, critics, or point out omissions as usual.
I’ve brought back the PNG version, but I’ve also kept a JPG version. While the JPG version’s quality is quite good, I’ve let the PNG version available for you purists out there.

Version 1 Release notes (2012.07.29) :
And here it is, after a long wait. Thanks for your patience! There was a lot of work involved with this one because I started making it just about one month before the start of the Fall season, which is a very bad idea.
Anyway, this v1 is quite the massive one, with 30 TV series, 22 BD/DVD/OVA/SP and 16 Movies.
Brand new design as well, with the presence of an “origin” field for TV series, and the removal of fillers. The origin field was requested for quite some time but because I had something else in mind, I didn’t want to put it in the chart just yet. Since I was too lazy for my “something else”, I figured it’d just be better to put it in the chart once and for all, which is what I did.
Images are now separate from summaries, which should make the latter easier for you to read. I still wanted the images to be large enough for you to have a decent look at the anime’s art, and I think this size is just about right.
As someone requested, summaries for the BD/DVD/OVA/SP section are no longer in caps. This makes the section a bit bigger, but I still think that the “compact” feeling remains.

baka.bz‘s list of websites has been updated accordingly.

Hope you’ll enjoy this first release, and as usual feel free to point out typos/mistakes/omissions, and to give your opinion about the chart in general.
Personally looking forward to Magi, Robotic;Notes, Shin Sekai Yori, ~~Oshiri Kajiri Mushi~~ and Seitokai no Ichizon S2, with Shin Sekai Yori being on the top.

Last but not least, I’ll be contacting those who’ve recently mailed me about translating the chart into their own languages. So far I have requests for translations into Chinese, Portuguese, Russian and (maybe) Indonesian. I stress that you will need Photoshop to do the job. Softwares like GIMP can open PSD files but all the styling will be lost.
There are also a couple of “common sense” rules that you’ll need to agree beforehand, but if you’re a serious person (which is what I am looking for) then you won’t have any problem with these.

Writing this before going back to the making of the Fall chart :

I’ve received several emails regarding translation proposals for the upcoming Fall 2012 Anime Chart. Before I reply to each of you, I want to properly finish and release the chart first.
I’m happy to see that people are motivated to translate the chart to their own languages, and I hope that we’ll work together in the near future.

In the meantime, I’m about to jump off from my balcony, as the end is nowhere to be seen for the Fall chart. Because I started very late, I have a lot of info to catch up : about 30 TV series, even more OVA/ONA,etc. and half as much movies. If you take into account the fact that I also changed the design and that I need to create the primary post for the release and update the blog, this amounts to more than 24 full hours of work.
This is what I am doing right now and trust me, I am not enjoying this.
F***, next time I’ll start the chart in September, no way in hell I’m doing this again :/

Well, at least I feel better now that I’ve put my anger somewhere.
Guess I’ll get back to work. Thanks for your patience.

Because the next anime chart will be made using Photoshop, it should be much easier for people to translate it to their native language.

I’ve reworked the login area for translation teamlers, which now looks much sexier (previous was a plain htaccess page). Pretty fade animations and stuff, glorious css3!

Right now the only user is Rodrigo, but I hope to find some new partners in the future !
Rodrigo will soon be releasing the v4 of the Summer 2012 Anime Chart as well.

Slight setback, sorry :/
