Here are the charts for upcoming spring anime.
There are 2 charts :
- One is a classic image chart.
- One is an animated image chart. It will display bigger pictures of all TV Series for 5 seconds every 15 seconds. This is called “APNG format”, and it does not work with all browsers.

Sorry for the wait. Here’s the v4 of the Spring chart, with no less than 12 new TV series, 1 OAD, 3 OVAs and 29 updates (airing dates mostly). Reading the changelog at the bottom of this post is recommended, or re-browse the chart from the start. I was surprised by the amount of new stuff, especially since the Spring season has officially begun (although the “real” beginning is in April). I will update the PVs soon too. PNG version is coming within 24 hours too.
Again, please don’t hesitate to point out any mistakes you see (or shows I forgot). I gladly accept (constructive) critics and suggestions as well

Just a quick fix for the order of the series. The timeline for TV series is now properly set. It does not add anything new. If you don’t mind a wrong “airing” order for some TV series, you can keep the v3.

The shows don’t stop coming, huh.. I believe we now have 95% of the Spring content with this version. The next one will probably be more about additional summaries & airing dates. If any new shows pop up in the meantime, they’ll be added to the next version as well. For Hellsing Ultimate, it is a bit particular because it is not yet confirmed on moonphase, but a video of ep8 was shown at the comiket (thx Sniper). Will they delay it once again? Let’s hope not.

Image charts v2.1 Release notes (2011.02.01) :
Added a few OVA/OAD/Specials thanks to moetron. And a fix for one show. Also added one OVA I forgot in the previous version. See changelog at the bottom of this post for details.
The Animated version of the chart is up to date now too. Since the file is large already, I limited the “big images version” to the TV Series only (they are the most important anyway). Some shows have a “big image” that is completely different from the regular one (like Steins;Gate for example).
I am still looking for an image upload service which would let me upload large image files :/
If you know an image hosting service which lets you upload images around 8mb, I’m interested ! (That probably doesn’t exist for free anyway).

Some massive changes, with 20 new shows, 8 movies and several updates. I highly recommend that you read the changelog at the bottom of this post.
I did not release the v2 of the Animated chart yet. I’ll do that later (within 24 hours normally).
Please use the JPG version in the meantime.

Merry Springsmas. Some of you may think that it’s a bit early to release a Spring chart already, but in fact it’s not, because the Winter season has begun already, so it’s time to move on
Please note that this chart contains all infos that are actually mentioned on moonphase as of today, but it does not mean that it is complete. There will obviously be more shows in the v2, as moonphase will get updated with time (that’s why it’s called v1, too).
For this chart, I tried to be a bit more minimalist to avoid huge versions like I always did in the past.
That said, the anime had to have smaller pictures for this to be effective. Also, OVA, OAD, ONA and the rest used to take too much space because I designed them the same way that I did for TV series, resulting in big charts.
With this version, I tried to compensate everything by using this special PNG format that I told you about some time ago.
By using APNG, displaying animated pictures is possible, thus I can keep big pictures by displaying them from time to time. This does not work for all browsers though (read above). and it only works inside your browser.
If you are using Google Chrome or Internet Explorer (LoLoL), download the JPG version, as the PNG one would be of no use for you.
I also used a special font for OVA/ONA/OAD anime to dramatically reduce the space taken by them, while keeping it “readable” (bit harder but do-able). Most people making charts do not put summaries for OVA/ONA/OAD to keep the chart to a reasonable size, but I wanted to keep them without taking too much space, so I had to use a small font.
The next version of the chart will contain movies as well. OVA/ONA/OAD anime will also be animated with bigger pictures in the next version. I may also add original Japanese names for the anime (as part of the animation), and the anime logos too (if I have time to do all that).
I may be repeating myself, but if you have any suggestions/critics/etc or if you spotted some errors, feel free to post them here. I don’t bite (but I’d kill for cookies).
Personally, I’m looking forward to Kami Nomi S2, Hidan no Aria, Steins;Gate, Deadman Wonderland and Denpa Onna.

Is the Nichijou anime a short OVA/OAD/something like that? or a whole anime series?
Nichijou will be a full TV series (I don't know how many episodes though).
The OAD, which is bundled with the 6th volume of the manga, is only the "episode 0".

Yea, the plot looks quite crazy. Still waiting for Spring PVs on youtube and such. Should be pretty soon I think
It's KyoAni, who knows what can come out of a show expected to be crazy.
There's a lot of stupid shows, but also some that I have high expectations for.
Hanasaku Iroha is the one I'm looking forward to most though. The trailer looks like a nice slice-of-life with drama aspects sprinkled in.
There are some really great looking shows for Spring. It seems better than the winter offerings.

I don't think the "2 years gap" is linked to second seasons (Kami Nomi zo Shiru Sekai already got a season 2, and the first one just finished airing a few weeks ago).
This is mostly about "how much money will a S2 bring on the table" and the availability of the seiyuus (voice actors) I think.

There have been rumors of a 3rd season but there was no solid proof so..
As of today, there has been no announcements regarding a 3rd season. I think there isn't enough material in the manga to make a 3rd season right now, so 2012 is probably too early to think of a season 3.

For winter, I have too many shows so it'd be too long to list them here.
For spring, probably Hidan no Aria, Steins;Gate, Toriko, Denpa Onna, Kami Nomi & Deadman Wonderland.

Plenty of people say it will, but there's no solid proof. And anyway, if the author wants to extend Bleach for 2 more years, trust me he'll manage to do it, with or without an end in sight

Personally I've never watched a single Bleach episode so.. I have a neutral opinion on this.

That group actually wrote on their blog that it was a song for the "last" season, but they then removed it shortly after.
It is not uncommon to do this "on purpose" to boost sales, spread false rumors to make people excited, etc.
I really dislike this kind of method so I hope they'll say it clearly soon.

The 2 OVAs are released before the 2nd season.
The 2nd season will air this year too (2011), but there are no specific date at the moment. Either in Summer 2011 or Fall 2011.

Companies have very strict politics when it comes to such announcements.
There's just no way that a company would let somebody else announce it for them, that's why it looked "on purpose" from me.
If it doesn't end, that wouldn't surprise me^^.

While making the PNG version (few hours ago), I've noticed many new airing dates as well. Will try to release an update next week to update/fix all this (at least before April begins, since most series will begin in April too).
With Japan's earthquake, all airing dates are likely to be in a complete chaos now :/
