Pimp my blogroll

• Power up :

All Hail JavaScript !
As I mentioned before, I wanted to make a “hovercard-like” system (similar to the gravatar one) for blogrolls..

.. and it is done!

Now, when you hover your mouse over a blog in the blogroll section, an image will pop up with a nice fading effect *.* with a description. If your browser is CSS3 compatible (which means, anything but that goddam crappy Internet Explorer  ), you’ll also see a nice shadow effect on the edges.

You can check it out by going on the blogroll section located on the sidebar, or by hovering your mouse on one of the links below :
My Gamers™ by shane3x
Neko Pan by kiyoura

Pay these two blogs a visit, you will probably find something that’ll catch your attention ;)

I’ve put some generic images for now. Blog owners can contact me if they wanna change the background, logo or description, of course.

• Your blog on the list :

I’ve never really said this anywhere (I should add it to the “About” page..), but if you wanna exchange links between your blog and mine, feel free to contact me (email is at the top of the sidebar).
Please keep in mind that contacting me doesn’t mean that it will be automatically approved.
I want to add blogs in which the content matches my interests (and the interests of my readers, or so I hope).
So please, do not feel offended if I reject your request ;)
That doesn’t mean your blog “sucks” either (blog owners often put lots of efforts on their blogs, and the content will always please some people and not some others. I have a strong respect regarding this).

If I’m the one contacting you for a blogroll exchange, and if you approve of my request, you do not necessarily need to add me back (doing it would just be a plus, and i’d be thankful of course).

I think this hovercard system is pretty neat. I may use it inside articles in the future, after I find out how to force the script not to preload the images when the page loads, but only when the user actually hovers his/her mouse over the specified area. Right now those two images only weigh 20kb each so it’s fine, but I wouldn’t imagine doing that with 50 pictures at 200kb each, for example

  1. Those links are totally hot.
